A weekend news template for Monday morning, in three levels so one download covers a split-level room. Start with the kindergarten page: one big polaroid picture box and a single sentence. Move up to Saturday and Sunday, two picture boxes and two sentence starters, and finish on the Who What Where When Why page for a writer ready for a full paragraph. Every level carries a self-check row so a child checks their own capital letter, finger spaces, punctuation and spelling before they turn the page in. A twenty-picture prompt bank gives a stuck writer something to point at, there is a cut-apart word bank for the words a weekend is actually made of, share time cards for the two minutes of talk that comes before the writing, and an ink saver black and white copy of every page for the Monday you are photocopying at 7:40.
Made for kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade and 3rd grade. You get 34 pages, as an editable PowerPoint and a print-ready PDF.

How the editing works
- Open the PowerPoint file and click any text box to type your own wording.
- Change the text, font, size and color. The background design is locked so your layout never shifts.
- Works in Google Slides too. Upload the PPTX to your Drive and open it with Slides.
Printing
- Print at 100 percent or Actual Size so the trim sizes stay true.
- Cardstock and lamination hold up all year for anything that gets handled daily.
Set in standard fonts so it opens the same way on any computer, with no font downloads to chase.
