The Everything Educator publishes classroom resources built by educators who use them. It is operated by Jon Cataldi, a high school Spanish teacher in New York, who is the data controller for everything described here. This policy covers this website and the Pinterest account and application operated under the same name. Plain version first: I do not sell your information, I do not run advertising networks, and I do not put third party tracking scripts on this site.
What this site collects
- Standard server logs. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub records requests, which includes IP address, browser type, and the page requested. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running. I do not combine them with anything else or use them to identify individual visitors.
- Nothing else. There is no signup form on the site right now, so there is no email address, no account, and no profile. If I add a form later, this page gets updated before it goes live.
There are no advertising pixels, no Meta or Google tracking tags, and no analytics product that builds a profile of you. The one third party the pages contact is Google Fonts, which serves the two typefaces the site uses.
What I do with an email address
- Send you the free file you asked for.
- Occasionally send a note about a new classroom resource or a free download.
That is the whole list. I do not sell, rent, trade, or share email addresses with anyone. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes the address.
The Pinterest application
The Everything Educator operates a Pinterest business account and a Pinterest developer application. That application is used only to publish, schedule, and measure my own pins on my own account.
- It reads and writes pins and boards belonging to The Everything Educator account only.
- It reads analytics for those pins so I know which classroom resources people find useful.
- It does not request access to any other person's Pinterest account, and it does not collect, store, or process personal data about Pinterest users.
- Access tokens are stored on my own machine in an encrypted credential store and are never shared with anyone.
Pinterest's own handling of your data is governed by Pinterest's privacy policy.
Where information is stored
The site is served by GitHub. There is no form on this site at the moment, so there is no stored email address to talk about. If that changes, this page changes with it and the updated date at the top moves.
Links to other sites
Pages here link to my Teachers Pay Teachers store and sometimes to Pinterest. Once you follow one of those links you are on their platform, and their privacy policy governs what happens there. Purchases are handled entirely by Teachers Pay Teachers. I never see your payment details.
Children
This site is written for teachers and other adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted an email address here, write to me and I will delete it.
Your choices
- See it. Ask what I have stored for your address and I will tell you.
- Delete it. Ask and I will remove your address. No reason needed.
- Stop hearing from me. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to me.
Requests go to cataldi23@gmail.com and are handled by Jon directly, usually within a few days.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of the page changes with it. If a change affects how email addresses are used, I will say so in an email before it takes effect.
